The concept is to fully and completely enclose Main Street in the Downtown portion of Bangor, ME; with a glass structure to keep out the elements and allow shopping to continue between stores with no traffice other than service vehicles at certain times of the day

October 2004 was the first Vander Pig cookoff contest as a vehicle to raise funds to eliminate the old Woodys Salavage buildings and to purchase the site that is listed as a Brownfields Site. The ultimate goal is to finalize the property payments and to create a Community facility for community functions. The site has been cleared and the Vander Community Association received $ 30,000 for a walk area to be constructed.
